Cookie Policy

Change your cookie preferences

You can update your choice at any time — the change applies the next time you load the site.

This page explains how Qubitz, Blockchain And Software Development, Lda (“Qubitz”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, in compliance with Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the GDPR) and Portuguese Law No. 58/2019. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device when you visit it. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixel tags, fingerprinting) serve the same purpose and are treated here under the same heading.

2. How consent works on this site

On your first visit we show a consent banner at the bottom of the page with three clearly labelled buttons:

  • Accept all — you consent to strictly necessary and analytics cookies;
  • Reject non-essential — only strictly necessary cookies run. Analytics do not load;
  • Preferences — opens a modal where you can enable or disable each category.

Your choice is stored for 6 months in a first-party cookie (qubitz_consent) and, if you pick custom preferences, a sibling cookie (qubitz_consent_categories). Analytics scripts are gated on your consent — they are only loaded into the page after you accept the Analytics category.

You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the site footer, or by clicking the Open preferences button at the top of this page. Withdrawing consent stops future loads of analytics, but cannot tear down scripts already running in your current session — those stop on your next visit.

3. Cookies and scripts in use

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to work. These are exempt from consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.

  • qubitz_locale — remembers your chosen site language so you are not redirected on every visit. First-party. Duration: 1 year.
  • qubitz_consent — records your top-level cookie consent choice (necessary / all / custom). First-party. Duration: 6 months.
  • qubitz_consent_categories — when you pick custom preferences, stores the per-category choice (e.g. analytics on/off). First-party. Duration: 6 months.
  • CSRF / session tokens set by the server during form submissions. First-party, expire with the session.

Analytics — consent-based

Loaded only after you accept the Analytics category via the banner or preferences modal.

  • Vercel Analytics (Vercel Inc., USA) — aggregated page views and navigation paths. Visitor data is hashed and retained on a rolling 24-hour window before aggregation. First-party, short-lived.
  • Vercel Speed Insights (Vercel Inc., USA) — Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, FID) used to diagnose site performance. First-party, short-lived.

We do not use advertising cookies, marketing cookies or cross-site trackers. We do not build advertising profiles.

4. How to change or block cookies

There are three ways to control cookies on this site:

  • Use the Cookie preferences link in the site footer, or the CTA at the top of this page, to reopen the preferences modal.
  • Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers also support private browsing and content-blocking extensions.
  • Use Do Not Track in your browser. We do not rely on DNT as a substitute for explicit consent, but we respect it where it removes the need for analytics.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the site's functionality (for example, your language selection may not persist and form submissions may fail).

5. International transfers

Vercel Inc. (the provider of analytics and hosting used on this site) is based in the United States. When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and Vercel's EU-US Data Privacy Framework commitments. See our Privacy Policy for the full set of safeguards that apply.

6. Updates

We may update this policy when cookies are added, removed or their TTL changes. Material updates are reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Your existing consent choice is preserved unless the scope of the categories changes — in which case we may ask you to re-consent.

7. Contact

Questions about cookies on this site can be sent to [email protected].
